Public libraries strive to provide services that make a positive impact on the communities they serve. But with the increasing demand for social services-related assistance, how can public librarians respond without sacrificing their own joy? In reporting the results of an IMLS-funded national survey, this presentation will engage conference attendees in a discussion on providing social services-related assistance and how librarians can serve their communities while maintaining their own well-being and passion for the profession.
